@ Tom: With the cold standy feature the efiiciancy of the PSU subsystem will improved. Example: If the system is equipped with 2 PSU´s + 1 for redundancy , the redundant PSU´s will be set to "cold standby" so that the 2 PSU are working with higher load and on a better efficiency.

@Tom Gundtofte-Bruun: Intel VMDq and SR-IOV (PCI-SIG SingleRoot I/O Virtualization) are important features being integrated in the latest Ethernet controllers (Intel 82576 as one 1GbE and 82599 as 10 GbE controller). PRIMERGY BX960 S1 and RX600 S5 both enable for use of the 10 GbE chips, thus they will support VMDq and SR-IOV. SR-IOV also must be supported by the hypervisor vendors (Microsoft, VMware, RedHat, SuSe, Citrix), who plan exactly the integration.

@Frits: PRIMERGY RX900 is to become our Topline PRIMERGY server with 8 x Nehalem EX. This is supporting a single system image deployment, as all PY servers are doing. PQ servers are providing a multi system image approach, i.e. hard partitioning of the server units. Thus they are a different server class "outside" of the PY family. PQ will not be generally introduced in EMEA, by FTS, and it is subject to special projects only.
